The mile up to the Potrero camp follows the creek. Alternating between near the creek, and above the creek, which makes it tougher than it seems
After Potrero the trail climbs deeply towards the deck.
There is a picnic table at Potrero, and that’s all
It’s 3 miles to the Deck from Potrero
There is a creek crossing. I should have speeded this up by 6X to not look so old.
1st view of the Deck
It was a crisp morning, but I was soon out of the long sleeve jersey.
4x speed drone footage of the 1st mile from Potrero. I lost the trail & missed the 1st sets of steep switchbacks.
This is the drone return straight back to Potrero.
The trail as mostly good. Steep, but good.
There was even a nice little valley that lead to the Indian caves.
At the caves, I relaxed while Dave went an extra mile to the top of the Deck
At the end of my redline trail, Dave did the last little blue line to the top.
From the drone it looks steep, but it was not worse than what we had already come up.
He did make it to the top. I have been there before, and saw no reason to go back.
This is the 8x speed drone footage of about 2/3 of the Deck, and a straight return to where I was sitting
I was investigating the Indian caves
4x speed drone footage of the caves.
When Dave returned, it was full speed back to Potrero for lunch.
And yes Margaret, we did have a beer with lunch
When we got back to the car we noticed this sign. Somehow we missed it on the way out.
