To Twin Falls Idaho, and YellowStone
Our first rest stop, maybe not the best choice??
Crusing at 85 MPH, we we were often passed
Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls Idaho
Lots of water
The falls made lots of noise
Last picture of the falls
In YellowStone, No problem with Buffalo over there
but they think they own the road
All lanes of the road
and they do
no one argues with them
Lots of water in YellowStone
Lots and lots of water falls
MOVIE: Lower valley waterfall
Eruptions are 1 hr and 38 minutes apart + or - 5 min
The start
Not sure how many feet; but high
YellowStone Inn lobby
at a special low cost of $499 per night
it was not our hotel
We stopped here and ate lunch
a nice restful spot
Friendly bear at our hotel
Next morning our only long range sighting of ELK
We then visit some hot basins
Lots of Boiling water
Lots of steam
Lots and lots of steam
MOVIE: The basin of steam
The basin guyers
You had to stay on the walkway
Some very narley looking water
Of course my wife has to check temperature
Nothing can grow in this basin
I like the mountains in the distance
The Northan part of the park
Movie: Higher valley waterfall
North Entrance roadside lawn mower
We stopped here for another homemade lunch
One Marment kept watch near us
The road sides still had plenty of snow
lots of snow
There were some really tremoundious water falls
MOVIE: a movie helps to capture the valley
A Panaroma required to capture the entire valley
Another creekside rest stop
Traffic jam on way back to our hotel
Last morning in YellowStone
A final basin with a very deep cristal clear pool
It was called Safire Pool for a reason
YellowStone boat arena
The lake, however, was still frozen solid
Leaving YellowStone you enter the Tetons Nat. Park
I love these mountains
a lot
Thats about as close as I want to get to snow
There were flashing lights warning of Bear, but we saw none
Closest we got to a Elk (Gas station statue)
Nothing but the best for my wife on Mother’s day
After you drive 2,608 miles, you kill a lot of bugs
