7 AM, Los Olivos was not early enough

After 7 miles to start of climb it was already turning hot

MOVIE: Ignoring my good advice

Finaly a simi-flat spot

Nothing flat of Figueroa last long

As the sun rose higher, water became a problem.

I did not realize heat exhaustion was beginning and causing weakiness. I thought it was just my old age...

Movie: I see a lot of nothing

Heat exhaustion /weakness was causing more rest stops than normal

Almost to park boundary

Only 1 more mile to the Ranger Station where I hid some water yesterday

MOVIE: Desperate for next water supply

Finally the Ranger Station ( currently unmanned)

My 36 oz of water is still here. A life savor. I did not fully realize how much I needed water

After a long rest break and lots of water, only 1 mile to the 1st top and my second water supply

I was one very happy camper. My water was there. I was giver even more water by some great folks from LA. I was begining to feel a lot better

..and strangers gave me water, things are looking up

Only 3.5 miles to the real top, and I stop at lunch log

Only another mile to the real top

The real top may not look like much; but it is beautiful to see

I dug my water out of its hiding place and now it is all downhill, - mostly

MOVIE: I stopped recording at the 1st really steep grade because i wanted both hands on the handlebars LOL

Several roads connect at the Saddle

MOVIE: 1/2 way down

Small creek, very small

After water, I was feeling great

MOVIE: Running water

MOVIE: Bike goes one way; I go another way

MOVIE: Now we get a Gravel road

Full loop - almost

From start to top, 4,500 feet!
