There are many hiking trails within Montana De Oro state park. I like the Valencia peak one. It is only 5 miles round trip, but it starts at the Pacific surf and goes to around 1,400 in a hurry. In the summerit is great to hike by the Pacific because it will be cool. Sometimes, however, the marian layer over the ocean takes awhile to burn off and the near by peaks will be covered in fog. Great for hiking, but not so much for pictures. There are some much longer trails, but at 74 it is getting to where I can enjoy shorter ones LOL. Click here for the pictures.
