    • The first night at Horseshoe meadows was simply picking up my daughters Honda Pilot in Bakersfield, and driving to Lone Pine California. I picked up Tony at an RV park there and it took us about 40 minutes to drive to the Trailhead campsite. The next day was an 8 mile hike to High Lake where we set up our basecamp.
    • New Army Pass
    • Hike back to trailhead, and return home

Fess is dead now, but he was very active in the winery well into his 80s
