New Army Pass

The path to the top goes over New Army Pass. I met that challenge but not the top of Langely. Tony met both of those challenges. The photos below shows just how tough that was.

We camped at High Lake to get as close to the Pass as possible

This was my path over the top and slightly beyond

This was Tonys path all the way to the top of Langley. High Lake is at the very bottom

1st dawn at High lake. We will hike this day with light backpacks

After welcoming the sun, we look at what we are supposed to go over!

Somewhere there is a Pass over that………somewhere….

The trail leads UP, always up

These 3 cairns mean danger - do not proceed. Somehow I went right past them …...

on to this this portion before I finally realized my mistake- dumb & dangerous

This was the official detour. How could I have missed such as easy path?

Getting up and around this area was a bit tricky

I thing the top was a few feet higher

The trail went down a valley before starting back up, — I had had enough UP for today, so I called it a day.

At this altitude there are no trees

After going down the valley and starting up towards the peak

There were several clifs like this, - that required hard climbing

Tony overcame it all, and made it to the top

Looking back after I started down. Down was much easier than up
