Building a Patio, while learning on the job
Everything had to fit into my new CX-30
Anchor placement was critical to insure the fit of the roof panels
They had to be exactly 16 feet wide, and not to close to the deep grout lines for the sleeve anchors to work
Drilling in the conceret was the hardest part. I replaced my cheap drill with a good one, and drilled small holes before the final 1/2 ones
The final 1/2 inch holes, 3 inches deep
The black pads kept my knees off the cement
The holes had to be perfect for the concrete sleeve anchors to work
Once in place, they aren’t going anywhere
The 1st three anchors took all day
Lots of tools and stuff required
Measuring and leveling was done with a light 2x2
With a hand router …..
The 4x4s were mitered so the braces would fit flush
Once the braces were straight and level
The installed 2x6x10s will be level
Not perfect, …...
… but good enough
With the large heavy stuff, I worked one end at a time
After several days, this is how far I had progressed befor help arrived
The 12 foot roofing panels were the longes items I carried
They did not want to fit….
… But I made them fit
There are no treated 2x2s, so I ripped treated 2x4s
2x2s on top of 2x4s would hold the panels , all wood was treated for long life
These are the panel supports we installed
They were all removed to install the correct ones @%$@#
Installing the panels would have been easy...
.. except for the row under the eves that was impossible to get to
With help, it all went together well
I was satisfied with the final product
only part of the “stuff” I had to put away
It took a while, but work bench cleared
